Crawling websites is the process of gathering data from unstructured web sources that are not primarily made to be read by machines.

Basically what Google does when it’s trying to index sites but at a much smaller scale. The crawling robot uses a browser framework to act like a user and reads data

This process can be quite challenging, especially without the right guidance, and awareness.

A good example of this in action would be someone who runs an e-commerce website trying to crawl Amazon for example so as to compare the price of different items and set them a few dollars lower or something like that.

Starting your web crawling journey might seem daunting, but with the right guidance and tools, it’s entirely achievable.

In this video, I break down exactly what crawling is, the considerations and challenges involved in order to give you a good understanding of how to get started, and what you’ll need to be aware of.
